Evangeline Hundley

Running for South Carolina’s 5th District

Evangeline Hundley is running as a Democrat to represent South Carolina’s 5th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Raised in Newberry, SC, Evangeline has dedicated her life to public service, with experience ranging from political public relations to founding a construction company and helping homeowners during the 2008 recession. Her passion for voter registration and education is deeply rooted in her parents' civil rights activism.

Evangeline is committed to bringing real, lasting change to South Carolina’s 5th District. She envisions a future where South Carolinians are healthier, wealthier, and wiser. Her focus is on serving the people, not corporations, and she aims to bring diversity and effective leadership to the district.

Sen. Mike Fanning

State Senator, District 17- Chester, Fairfield & York Counties

Dr. Mike Fanning, a native and lifelong South Carolinian, is running for re-election to the South Carolina State Senate, representing District 17. His seat is critical in preventing a Republican Super Majority, making this race the center of the political universe in South Carolina. Dr. Fanning holds degrees from Wofford College, Benedict College, and the University of South Carolina, where he earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership & Policy. He is also an active-service veteran of the US Army.

With a background in education, Dr. Fanning has taught high school Social Studies at Estill High School and Columbia High School. For the past 24 years, he has served as the executive director of the Olde English Consortium (OEC), a non-profit educational collaborative in Rock Hill that promotes excellence and cooperation among eight school districts and four universities in North Central South Carolina.

Dr. Fanning resides on a small farm near Great Falls with his wife, Stephanie, a paralegal at Kassel & McVey Law Firm. They have one son, Markell, a Coastal Carolina University graduate working in healthcare in Colorado. Since his election on November 8, 2016, Senator Fanning has been a dedicated representative of Chester, Fairfield, Lancaster, and York Counties, serving on key Senate Committees: Agriculture & Natural Resources, Family & Veterans Services, Finance, and Fish, Game, & Forestry. Annie E. McDaniel

STATE REP. District 41 - Chester, Fairfield & Richland Counties

Annie E. McDaniel, Chair-Elect of the South Carolina Legislative Caucus, is a lifelong Fairfield County resident and a trailblazing leader. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of South Carolina, with additional coursework in Education Administration. In 2018, she made history as the first African American woman and the first African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the South Carolina General Assembly for House District 41. Currently serving on the Education and Public Works Committee and the Operations and Management Committee, Ms. McDaniel also played a key role on the COVID-19 Employment, Workforce, and Business Recovery Committee.

Her extensive involvement includes serving as Treasurer of the Black Caucus and contributing to the Economic Development Committee of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators. Ms. McDaniel is also an active member of the Fairfield County NAACP Branch Executive Committee and serves as State Director for both the National Foundation for Women Legislators and National Women in Government. From 2000 to 2018, she was a dedicated member of the Fairfield County School District Board of Trustees, holding various leadership roles.

A Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the NAACP, Ms. McDaniel continues to make significant contributions to her community, including creating the Mary Kennedy McDaniel First Generation Scholarship.

Will Montgomery

Fairfield County Sheriff (Incumbent)

Will Montgomery, a lifelong resident of Fairfield County, has dedicated his life to law enforcement and public service. A graduate of the University of South Carolina and the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy, Sheriff Montgomery began his career in 2001 as a Deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, where he served for 13 years. In 2014, he was elected Sheriff of Fairfield County, officially taking office on November 24, 2014. His commitment to law and service is deeply rooted in his family, following the legacy of his grandfather and father, both of whom also served as Sheriff.

Sheriff Montgomery is an active member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro and is deeply involved in his community. He and his wife, Caroline Carter Montgomery, reside in Winnsboro with their daughter, Alexis. His leadership and dedication to public safety have earned him the trust and support of Fairfield County residents.

Running unopposed in the general election, Sheriff Montgomery continues to be a vital leader, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. His experience, commitment, and strong ties to Fairfield County make him an essential figure in maintaining the county's security and integrity.

Dorothy Boyd Belton

Dorothy Boyd Belton, a dedicated public servant with over 20 years of experience, has won the primary and is now running unopposed in the general election for Clerk of Court. A proud graduate of McCrorey-Liston High School, Dorothy earned her Paralegal Certification from Rutledge College and furthered her education in Legal Studies at Midlands Technical College and Columbia College. Born and raised in the Greenbrier / Horeb Glenn Community, she now resides in Ridgeway, SC, with her husband, Barry Belton. Dorothy is the loving mother of sons Brandon and the late Kevon Belton. Her deep roots in Fairfield County and extensive legal training make her an invaluable asset to our community.
